The newly appointed Zongo divisional police commander Kwame Buah has called on the youth at Aboabo within the Asokore mampong Municipality to desist from engaging in unlawful acts.The Commander made this statement when he paid a courtesy call on the Aboabo chief Alhaji Sulema VC today Tuesday at his palace.The commander who was sworn into office recently said it is incumbent on every stakeholder within the community to contribute his quota in ensuring the development of the area. He assured the elders of the community that he will treat any information conveyed to him with utmost confidentiality." I will treat any information given to me with utmost confidentiality and I will visit the community on Sunday to attest what is transpiring" he said.
Aboabo Chief's spokesperson Alhaji Mmaru Wagiri who spoke on the chief's behalf said the situation at Aboabo is getting out of hand as some of the youth do engage in unlawful acts like smoking of cannabis in the public, making unnecessary noise with motorbikes during the night to distrupt people's sleep and others.
A Unit Commitee member Alhaji muftawu who represented the Assemblyman in the area reiterated the call on the police to come to their aid as the situation is deteriorating.He said roads are blocked in the name wedding celebrations and also the roads in Aboabo have been turned into washing Bay where cars are being washed.
The Commander finally said he knows about a lot of the problems since his predecessors have left documents behind.He assured the people of Aboabo of total sanity in his tenure of office.
